LEAPWORK supports a mixed user setup, where some users are created directly as users (with a username and password) in LEAPWORK, and some users get access via Active Directory (AD).
To use AD for controlling access to the LEAPWORK, both the machine (where the Studio is installed) and the Controller should belong to the same AD. Otherwise, the option, 'Add AD User', will not be available.
In the User Management section, the option "Add AD User" can be used to add an access level for either a user or a group from AD.
Issue – The Controller could not read users & groups from the Active Directory domain due to an error.
Solution – The user/account which is configured to run the Leapwork Controller service, this respective user should have read access to the ‘Users’ and ‘Computers’ containers in the active directory. Lack of these permissions will cause an error when a user tries to add an Active Directory user to the Leapwork.
