Who is the admin user?
The admin user has full access to everything, including creating and maintaining users, assets, settings, and view the audit log. Administrators can also access the encryption key for the database.
Why do we create an admin user and why is saving the admin password important?
An admin user is created so that they will have full control of the studio application to carry out administrative tasks when necessary. An authentication password is required to log in to the Studio, as it contains critical information and for extra security, its password cannot be reset. A password may only be set during its initial installation, so be sure to record and securely store the password.
The admin user password is important and setting one during the Leapwork installation is required.
In this example, during the installation, the 'admin' user password is set in the following window:
Best Practice?
As a best practice, it is advised that you create at least two (2) admin users in case someone forgets or loses the password.
Users can create another admin user using the User Management tab, under the Settings tab in the studio application.

Note: The admin user password is securely located in your local installation only. Leapwork cannot assist you in retrieving this password in case it is lost.
