If user is able to login into agent machine via RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol), however gets an "incorrect password" error when connecting via LEAPWORK, then the possible reason is:
There's a keyboard layout difference in the typed language and the agent machine's native language. While sending characters from keyboard, characters are getting typed in the native language and not in the language chosen on the screen.
This results in typing of wrong characters in the password and hence system throws "incorrect password" error on login.
In the above mentioned case, it's actually the local system character mapping issue and this can be solved by applying the default input method settings on the agent machine. Please refer to below steps:
- Login to agent machine via RDP.
- Open Control Panel >> Navigate to Region
- Then go to the far rightmost tab "Administrative" and Click on Copy Settings
- Tick the checkboxes,
- "Welcome screen and system accounts"
- "New user accounts"
- Click OK
Restart the Agent Machine and Make connection via Leapwork again.
