"Could not capture the application" dialog is shown when user attempts to capture any of the following shortcuts using Start Application block:
- An application from the taskbar that is not pinned to it on all Windows versions except for Windows 10.
- Universal Windows Platform(UWP) applications pinned to the taskbar on Windows 8, such as Microsoft Store and Mail.
- System shortcuts on desktop such as My Computer, Documents and Recycle Bin, File Explore (for non-English Windows 8 version), etc.
- In some cases it might happen when user tries to capture a non executable Icon.
In the above mentioned cases Leapwork can't identify the type of application and/or the path to application. Therefore, you can't capture the shortcut to use it in a Start Application block.
Please start the application manually and capture the application window instead of the shortcut.
