While using Leapwork a user may find himself in a scenario where he wants to migrate from one machine to another or needs to install Leapwork on the new machine altogether. Both these scenario would require him to deactivate the license and than add a new license in order to get started. But in this process he might forget to deactivate his license key from the Leapwork Studio, in this case he will face an error which says:
"Activation failed because there are no free seats available" error message is shown when a user tries to use a single Leapwork license on multiple machines simultaneously. Leapwork allows you to use a single license on multiple machines but on the condition that one machine is bound to one license at a time.
To resolve "Activation failed because there are no free seats available" issue you need to:
- Deactivate the licence on the old machine,
- Wait for 10 minutes (sometimes it may take up-to 2 hours) after deactivating your old license key.
- Login on a new machine.
There are two ways to complete the Deactivation process:
- Using Leapwork Studio, go to settings-->License Management-->Select license to deactivate-->Click on deactivate.
- Contact Leapwork chat support and request for deactivation of license by confirming the machine name.
