Chrome Selenium Driver has recently changed its strategy with respect to Chrome Browser support, now latest Chrome Browser is Supported with latest ChromeDriver and the driver will not be backward compatible as it was there earlier (read more here). LEAPWORK is now aligned to the Google Chrome strategy and hence we also support the latest Chrome Browser with Latest ChromeDriver by default.
With the latest LEAPWORK release (2019.1.460), we added the latest ChromeDriver version 74.0.3729.6 to LEAPWORK, this led to Chrome test case not working for some users, the root cause is the latest Chrome driver (which is not compatible with the old version of the browser), to resolve this issue either user has to update their Chrome Browser to version 74 or Downgrade the Chrome Driver in LEAPWORK to old supported version.
Forward and Backward Compatibility with browsers can be achieved by upgrading and downgrading either the browser or its corresponding driver in LEAPWORK. Following article explains the process in detail How to achieve forward/backward Browser and Driver compatibility.
Below is the list of Chrome drivers and their supported browsers.
