When connecting to a LEAPWORK remote Agent, users might not get all resolutions options even if they receive all resolutions in a remote desktop connection. This issue is typically seen on virtual machines running under virtualization technologies such as VMware, Citrix, Hyper-V, etc.
Windows remote desktop technology and LEAPWORK remote connection technologies work in a completely different way so they cannot be compared.
If the user does not get the resolution via an Agent, this is because there is a missing virtual machine resolution configuration in the VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix virtualization admin panel.
Virtual machine display resolution is settings are controlled by Virtual machine Administrator, so as a first action we should talk to our virtual machine administrator and ask them to enable all resolutions on the given virtual machine. Here are a few articles explaining how to configure it in VMware:
The below screen depicts one of the configuration screens in the VMware console.
Once the display resolutions are configured properly user should be able to see it in the Agent configuration page as shown below:
If you are not able to see the required resolutions in the Agent machine then please ask your virtual machine administrators to resolve your issue since it is an environmental configuration issue and not related to LEAPWORK.
