Users may not get all resolution options while connecting to a LEAPWORK remote agent while they get all resolutions in remote desktop connection. This issue is typically seen on the virtual machines running under virtualization technologies like VMware, Citrix, Hyper-V, etc.
Windows remote desktop technology and LEAPWORK remote connection technologies work in a completely different way so there is no point in comparing them.
The reason for not getting resolution via an agent is missing virtual machine resolution configuration at VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix virtualization admin panel.
Virtual machine display resolution is settings are controlled by Virtual machine Administrator, so as a first action we should talk to our virtual machine administrator and ask them to enable all resolutions on the given virtual machine. Here are a few articles explaining how to configure it in VMware:
The below screen depicts one of the configuration screens in the VMware console.
Once the display resolutions are configured properly user should be able to see it in the Agent configuration page as shown below:
If you are not able to see the required resolutions in the Agent machine then please ask your virtual machine administrators to resolve your issue since it is an environmental configuration issue and not related to LEAPWORK.
