Automation is not complete without having proper reporting structure available. Reporting results of automated flows in test and process automation enables the tester or process owner to view the results, analyze the results and debug any failed flows, in a fast and reliable way.
Many times, it is required to share the reports with our managers, colleagues, and clients. Hence, a proper sharing mechanism should be in place to perform automation smoothly.
Leapwork provides multiple kinds of tools for reporting and monitoring, both visual Dashboards and more structured Reports. Along with downloading different report types, Leapwork also provides an option to share the run item which can help the other user of Leapwork to open a particular result automatically within Leapwork.
We can follow the following steps to use this feature:
- Launch Leapwork Studio and go to Reporting tab.
- Select any result from either “All-Time Results” or “Results by flow this week”.
- Right-click on the result and we will notice an option as “Share run item”.
- Once the option “Share run item” is clicked, it will open a small pop-up box asking us to either “copy the link” or “share the same through email”.
Let us discuss both cases below:
a) For the first case, the link of this selected result will be copied to the clipboard which can be shared with any other Leapwork user by pasting the copied link.
The other Leapwork user can launch any browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, etc.) and paste the run item shared and a pop-up will appear asking the user to open the Leapwork application.
Users can select “Open” to launch the result.
In case, Leapwork is not opened, then the shared run item will automatically launch the Leapwork studio and then navigate to that particular result.
b) Once the user selects the second option “Share by email”, then Leapwork will automatically launch the installed email client like Microsoft Outlook. The user can then provide the email address and other details to share the result. Link of the result will be added automatically to the email as shown below: -
