Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is one of the most widely-used encryption protocols - despite some security vulnerabilities exposed in the protocol. To date [27-Jun-2018], SSL and early Transport Layer Security (TLS) no longer meet minimum security standards due to vulnerabilities in the protocol for which there are no fixes. It is critically important that entities upgrade to a secure alternative as soon as possible and disable any fallback to both SSL and early TLS.
30 June 2018 is the deadline for disabling SSL/early TLS and implementing a more secure encryption protocol, TLS v1.2, in order to meet the PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) for safeguarding online data.
User with version 2.5.918 or earlier may get an error due to missing TLS compliance: "We were not able to connect to the activation server. You can still use LEAPWORK by clicking OK."
All later versions of LEAPWORK are now TLS v1.2 compliant and latest release version can be downloaded from here: https://account.leapwork.com/downloads.
Note: Users can still use the old version by pressing 'OK' button on the error message shown above. However, We strongly recommend to upgrade to newer version as there might be some unforeseen issues due to old TLS protocol in the future.
