Description
The error message “Could not retrieve cached data” means that your Leapwork Studio is not able to connect to the Controller and retrieve assets such as projects, automation cases, reports, and so on.
Resolution
Please follow these steps to fix this issue:
-
Check if the Leapwork Controller service is installed and running on the machine that the Studio attempts to contact.
-
-
-
Open a “Run” window by pressing the keys :
-
Type “services.msc” and click “OK”
-
Find “Leapwork Controller” in the list of services
-
Right-click the service and click “Start” if it is not in the “Running” state. If it is already running, then click “Restart”.
-
Restart Leapwork Studio and try again.
-
-
-
-
If you can’t find “Leapwork Controller” in the list of services, it means that it is not installed on the machine. You can install it by downloading it from https://account.leapwork.com/downloads. Always ensure to have the same version of Leapwork installed everywhere: Studio, Controller and Agents.
-
If the service is running but Leapwork Studio continues to show the error message, check whether the Controller is responding.
-
-
-
Open a web browser and go to the REST API endpoint: http://localhost{servername}:9001/help/index
-
You should see a list of all the service endpoints available on the Controller and confirm that it is indeed running and is responding.
-
-
-
-
Click on Settings->Controller Settings. Here you can see the details of the configured controller.
